Google docs

Google Documents for Educators Pt. 1

Google Docs is an online office suite (word processor, spreadsheet, slideshow) that allows multiple people to collaborate on creating documents. This workshop will provide an overview of the Google Docs applications, discuss pros and cons of the service as compared to traditional offline office software such as Microsoft Word, and demonstrate the collaborative functionality of the suite. Real-life, concrete examples of teachers using Google Docs with students and colleagues will also be provided, as well as brainstormed by the group. Basic computer skills are required for this workshop.

Google Documents for Educators Pt. 2

Google Docs is an online office suite that allows multiple people to collaborate on creating documents. This workshop is a continuation of Google Docs, Part One. PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE ATTENDED PART ONE IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND THIS SESSION. We will not review material discussed in Part One. Basic computer skills are required for this workshop.

Laptop computers will be available for use by our workshop participants. It is suggested that participants bring a flash drive to save any work that may be accomplished during the course of these workshops.

If schools are closed due to inclement weather, the workshop will be cancelled.

This workshop is jointly sponsored by the New Jersey Education Association and the Salem County Council of Education Associations for all interested members.  This event is free to members of the SCCEA; however, no-shows will be billed for the cost of the dinner.  Please be considerate and send an email at least twenty-four hours in advance to cancel your reservation if you cannot make it to this event.
